 | The use of light to treat wounds was discovered 40 years ago – simply put, light in a waveband around 600nm has a therapeutic property. Supplying the correct amount of the correct waveband normalizes collagen production and also stimulates the light-sensitive mitochondria in the cells. Mitochondria are responsible for supplying energy to the cell, and stimulating them speeds up the cell metabolism and helps the repair process. I²PL treatment of scars is based on this general theory – treating a recent scar (one that still has a good blood supply) normalizes the blood supply to the treated area. It simulates a very low-grade vascular injury which causes the body’s repair mechanism to start to work in the area. A number of doctors have found that healing of small surgical scars is most effective when they are treated very shortly after removal of stitches. Older scars are treatable too, but may require that the blood supply is stimulated, prior to I²PL treatment. WOW - my customers are satisfied!! I had a client with pigmented lesions all over her face. After just one treatment she is already extremely happy!! I had another client who had very many thread veins on his nose and cheeks. After two treatments his visual facial thread veins are practically gone. I am very content with my Ellipse system!! Thank you Scanex (Ellipse's distributor in Sweden) for all your good support and for an unbelievably good machine."
